Privacy policy
Earth Science Lab is built for students. We don’t have accounts, we never ask for names or email addresses, and the labs save nothing about who you are.

No accounts, no personal details
You can use every lab, worksheet and answer key without signing up. The labs run in your browser; your readings, circles and guesses are not sent to us. A shared lab link (Copy share link) carries only the lab’s settings, such as the mode and a challenge number.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which labs are used, so we can improve them. It records anonymous, aggregated information such as pages viewed, the type of device and browser, the approximate country, and lab events such as “an epicenter was solved” with the error in kilometers. It does not receive names or anything students type. Google processes this data as described in Google’s privacy policy.
Cookie choices
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a small banner and choose Accept or Reject before any analytics cookies are used. Your choice is remembered for 180 days, and you can change it any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Elsewhere, anonymous statistics are on by default.
What is stored in your browser
The site may keep up to three small values in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Apart from the Contour Map Playground, the labs store nothing: refreshing the page starts them fresh, and their settings travel only inside a share link’s address.
Ads
There are no ads on Earth Science Lab yet. If that changes, ads will be clearly labeled, will wait for cookie consent where it is required, will never appear on teacher pages or answer keys, and will stay off for students who arrive from a school platform or a Share to Google Classroom link. This page will be updated first.
Fonts and hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site. Text is set in fonts loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts are downloaded.
Children
The labs are designed for students aged about 10 to 16 and do not collect personal information from anyone. Teachers can use them in class without collecting any student data.
